What pays for this, and what does not

No advertising is running on The Franchise Record today, and display advertising is the only revenue it is intended to have. It carries no affiliate links, sells no products or services, and takes no money from anyone with an interest in what it publishes.
Display advertising
The intended and only revenue source is ordinary display advertising, placed in fixed slots and sold by an advertising network rather than by this publication to a named buyer. No advertising is running today; it will be added when there are enough readers to justify it, and the privacy page will be updated before that happens to name the network.
Two placement rules are permanent. Advertising never appears inside a quotation from a statute, an opinion, an audit or a hearing record, and it never appears inside a component that sets one source’s numbers against another’s. An advertisement inside a quoted statute would cost more credibility than the slot could ever earn.
No affiliate links
There are no affiliate links on this site and none are planned. This subject has no product to recommend, and the readers who matter here are not shopping. If that ever changed, the disclosure would sit immediately next to the link, on the page carrying it, in plain words — never as a footer link to a disclosure page, which is exactly the form the Federal Trade Commission’s rule on consumer reviews and testimonials treats as inadequate, because a disclosure a reader has to click to see is not a disclosure.
Nothing is for sale here
- No sponsored posts, paid articles, gifted coverage or “partner content”.
- No paid links, link insertions or edits to existing pages for payment or exchange, at any price. Requests are declined categorically.
- No lead generation, no dealership directory, no vehicle inventory, no “find a dealer near you”, no referrals to lawyers, brokers or consultants.
- No contributions, donations, memberships or subscriptions. There is nothing to fund and nothing to join.
- No paywall. Everything published here is free to read and free to cite.
Independence
No advertiser, litigant, manufacturer, dealer, dealer association, law firm or trade group has any say over what is published, and none is given notice of a page before it appears. Coverage is not sold, and it is not withheld. If an advertising relationship ever created a real conflict with something being written, the disclosure would run in the article itself.
