The Franchise Record is a set of static pages. There are no accounts, no logins, no comments, no newsletter, no forms and no tracking scripts, and this site sets no cookies of its own.
Server logs
This site is served through Cloudflare. Like any web host, that infrastructure records ordinary request data — IP address, the page requested, the time, the browser’s user-agent string and the referring page — and uses it to deliver pages, to keep the site available and to block abuse. Cloudflare may also set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for security and bot detection; those come from the network layer rather than from anything written here. Cloudflare’s own handling is described in its privacy policy.
Analytics
As of the date at the top of this page, this site runs no analytics package of any kind: no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no session recording, no fingerprinting. If a privacy-respecting, aggregate-only analytics tool is added later, this page will say so, it will be dated, and the change will be noted in the site log.
Advertising
This publication carries no affiliate links and sells nothing; the full position is on how this site is funded. It is intended to be supported by display advertising once it has readers to justify it. No advertising is running today. If and when it starts, an advertising network will place cookies or similar identifiers on readers’ devices for ad delivery and measurement, and this page will be updated before that happens to name the network and link its own disclosures.
Email sent to editor@hometownautodealers.org is stored in a mailbox in order to answer it, and kept as part of the record of corrections and document tips. Messages are not added to any mailing list, are never sold, rented or shared for marketing, and are not passed to third parties except where the law requires it.
What is never done here
- No personal data is sold, rented or traded, in any circumstance.
- No profile of any reader is built, and nothing collected here is used to target advertising at a specific individual.
- No private contact details taken from documents, from this domain’s own archive, or from reader email are published.
- This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Requests
Readers in jurisdictions with statutory data rights — including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and California — may ask what is held about them and ask for it to be deleted. Because this site keeps no user accounts, in practice the only material held is email a reader chose to send and infrastructure logs held by the hosting provider under its own retention schedule. Changes
This page carries the date it took effect. When it changes materially the date changes with it and the change is described here rather than slipped in.
